Terms of Service

Last updated: August 21, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Momora, a private family memory journal operated by How do you turn this on LLC ("Momora," "we," "us," or "our"). They apply to the Momora mobile application (also listed as "UseMomora" in some app stores), our website, and related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Momora lets adults create or join private family journals and:

  • Save memories as text, voice-dictated text, kept sound recordings, photos, or videos.
  • Add and tag child or family profiles.
  • Create optional AI-generated character portraits and memory illustrations.
  • Organize and revisit memories in timeline, calendar, search, and Looking Back views.
  • Invite trusted household members with owner, manager, or viewer roles.
  • Like and comment on memories inside a shared family journal.
  • Create watermarked memory cards for user-directed sharing outside the journal.
  • Let family owners export private archives of the families they own.
  • Receive optional journal reminders and family-activity notifications.

Some features may be unavailable, delayed, or changed as the Service evolves. AI processing and media uploads may finish after a memory's text or database record has already been saved.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. Momora is for adults and is not intended for children to create accounts or use independently.

You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it current. Production accounts use a one-time code sent to the account email. You are responsible for securing your email account, device, and active Momora session, and for promptly telling us about suspected unauthorized access.

You may not impersonate another person, create an account for abuse or fraud, or transfer access to an account without our permission.

3. Family journals, roles, and invitations

Each journal belongs to a family created by an account holder. A family has one owner. The owner may invite managers, who can add, edit, and delete family-journal content and manage non-owner members, and viewers, who can browse and may like or comment. Owners and managers may moderate comments and remove members. There is no ownership-transfer feature in the current version.

Family invitations are intended for people you know and trust. Invite codes are sensitive, single-use credentials. Do not publish them or send them to people you do not intend to invite. An owner or manager must approve a redeemed invitation before access is granted.

All active members can view the private journal content available to their family role, subject to their personal report and hide settings. A manager may edit or delete a memory or family profile that another member created. Owners and managers retain their content-deletion and non-owner member-removal controls. Non-owner members may leave a family journal. If you leave or are removed from a family, you lose access immediately, but content you previously added remains in that family's journal unless an owner or manager deletes it.

If the owner schedules account deletion, every family journal they own is hidden during the 15-day grace period and permanently deleted if the request is not canceled. Other members cannot take ownership of it.

4. Children and family-profile information

You are responsible for information you provide about children or other people, including names, nicknames, dates of birth, photos, videos, and notes. By providing information about a child, you represent that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise have the legal authority and appropriate permission to provide that information and allow it to be processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

Do not add sensitive information that is not needed to preserve the memory. You must respect the privacy and rights of everyone shown or described in content you add.

5. Your content

"User Content" includes memory text, comments, profile information, photos, videos, voice input, kept sound recordings, links, and other material you submit to the Service.

You retain your ownership rights in User Content. You grant Momora a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, process, and create feature-related derivative works from User Content solely as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service. This includes sharing User Content with our service providers to transcribe voice, analyze text or photos, generate portraits or illustrations, create private memory-card or archive files, store private media, deliver notifications, measure product use as described in our Privacy Policy, and support the features you request. This license ends when the content is deleted from the Service, except for limited backups, legal retention, or shared-family content that remains under Section 3.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit User Content and grant this license. You are responsible for your User Content and for keeping your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

When you export an archive or use the device share sheet to send a memory card, you direct Momora to create and provide an external copy. Once that copy reaches the recipient, app, or storage service you selected, Momora's family-journal access controls no longer protect it. The recipient may save, forward, or publish it. You are responsible for choosing appropriate recipients, respecting the privacy of every person shown or described, and having the rights and permissions needed to share the content.

Momora is a private household service, not a public social network. However, memories, comments, profile content, and generated images can contain user-provided or AI-generated material.

Any active family-journal member can use the in-app reporting route to report a memory, AI-generated illustration, comment, active household member, family profile, or AI-generated character portrait. Reports are submitted privately to Momora; other household members, including owners and managers, cannot read them. Submitting a report obscures the reported item only for the reporter, who can choose Show anyway. It does not automatically delete the item for the rest of the household.

You can separately hide another active household member's authored memories, comments, and related notifications from your own view. It applies only to that person's account in that specific family journal and remains in place if their membership is removed, because their earlier contributions may remain. The setting lasts until you undo it, either account or the family is deleted, or Momora can no longer associate retained content with that account. It does not suspend the other person's account or change what other household members can see.

Owners and managers retain their available content-deletion and non-owner member-removal controls. Momora may review reports and remove content, restrict features or accounts, suspend accounts, or terminate access when appropriate under these Terms. If you cannot use in-app reporting, you can report content or conduct by emailing hello@usemomora.com.

6. AI features

Momora uses third-party AI services, including OpenAI, for transcription, cleanup, emotion analysis, safety processing, character portraits, and memory illustrations. When you request or use an AI feature, relevant User Content is sent to those providers as described in our Privacy Policy.

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, unexpected, or unsuitable. It may not perfectly reproduce a person's likeness or the details of a memory, and similar inputs may produce similar outputs for other users. Review AI output before relying on or sharing it. Do not use the Service to create illegal, exploitative, abusive, or rights-infringing content.

To the extent permitted by law and applicable provider terms, you may use AI output generated for your family journal. We do not guarantee that an output is unique, copyrightable, or free from third-party claims.

You can save plain-text memories or your own photos and videos without requesting an AI-generated memory illustration.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • Break the law or violate another person's privacy, intellectual-property, publicity, or other rights.
  • Upload content without the rights or permissions required to do so.
  • Harass, threaten, exploit, abuse, defame, or discriminate against another person.
  • Create or distribute child sexual abuse material or any content that sexualizes or exploits a minor.
  • Upload malware, probe or disrupt the Service, bypass access controls, or attempt unauthorized access.
  • Guess, collect, publish, sell, or misuse family invite codes or account credentials.
  • Scrape the Service, automate abusive requests, reverse engineer protected portions of the Service except where law expressly permits it, or evade rate limits.
  • Use AI features in a way that violates applicable law, these Terms, or an AI provider's usage policies.
  • Misrepresent your identity or submit false information for a fraudulent purpose.

We may investigate reports or other suspected violations and remove content, restrict features or accounts, suspend accounts, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or others. We aim to review safety reports promptly, but reporting does not guarantee removal or a particular outcome.

8. Subscriptions, billing, and fair use

Momora Plus is a store-managed subscription for family owners. The annual plan is offered by default and may include a seven-day trial for an eligible new owner; a monthly plan is also available without a trial. Current U.S. list prices are $99.99 per year and $12.99 per month. The price, currency, taxes, trial eligibility, renewal date, and complete offer terms displayed by the App Store or Google Play at purchase control if they differ from this summary.

Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account when you confirm a purchase. Unless the purchase screen states otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price. A free trial converts to the paid annual plan unless you cancel before the deadline shown by the store. Manage or cancel your subscription through the store account used to purchase it; canceling stops future renewal but does not itself delete your Momora account or journal. Store rules and applicable law govern billing disputes, taxes, cancellations, and refunds. Momora provides a restore-purchases option but cannot guarantee that a store will approve a purchase, restore, cancellation, or refund.

The subscription belongs to the family owner. Approved managers and viewers inherit the owner's access for that family and do not purchase separate Momora subscriptions. Active paid, trial, billing-grace, or complimentary access permits the household's available journal mutations and AI features. If that access expires, active members can continue reading the existing journal and the owner can continue exporting the owner-controlled archive, but creating or changing memories, media, likes, comments, AI generations, and other journal data requires renewed access. Resubscribing does not include another trial unless the store and Momora expressly offer one.

AI portrait and illustration generation is subject to reasonable fair-use, anti-abuse, per-memory, daily, and monthly limits. These limits apply to new generations, retries, and regenerations and may be adjusted to protect the Service and maintain reliable access for families. If a limit is reached, Momora may temporarily delay or refuse another AI generation until the applicable period resets. A memory's text or database record is saved independently and remains available even when AI generation is limited or fails. Momora does not sell generation credit packs in the current version.

Complimentary or temporary access is not a store purchase, has no cash value, and may expire or be withdrawn according to the terms under which it was granted. We may change subscription features or prices prospectively, with notice from us or the applicable store when required. Price changes do not authorize us to charge you outside the app-store purchase and renewal process.

9. Momora intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, logos, site copy, and non-user assets, is owned by Momora or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service as intended. They do not transfer ownership of Momora's intellectual property to you.

You may not copy, sell, license, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service or Momora branding except with written permission or where applicable law expressly allows it.

10. Third-party services and links

The Service depends on third parties, including Supabase, Cloudflare, OpenAI, RevenueCat, PostHog, Expo, Apple, Google, and Bento. Their services may be unavailable or change independently of Momora. Your use of app stores, share destinations, linked websites, and third-party services may also be governed by their terms and privacy policies.

Momora can display titles for links included in a memory. We do not control linked websites and are not responsible for their content, security, or practices. Check the destination before opening a link.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge those practices.

12. Account deletion and termination

You may schedule deletion in the app under Settings → Delete account or use our account-deletion page if you cannot access the app. Deletion is scheduled for 15 days later and may be canceled from Settings during that grace period.

When deletion completes:

  • If you own a family journal, your account and every family journal you own, including its members, memories, profiles, media, portraits, illustrations, cached memory cards, Looking Back data, likes, comments, and invitations, are permanently deleted.
  • If you are not the owner, your account, likes, comments, and account attribution are deleted. Content you added to another person's family journal may remain as part of that shared journal without identifying you as its creator.

Additional details appear in our Privacy Policy and on the account-deletion page.

We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or preserve information when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect the Service or others, investigate abuse, or comply with law. On termination, provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, dispute terms, and obligations concerning content already shared in a family journal.

13. Disclaimers

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." MOMORA AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR AVAILABLE FOREVER; THAT CONTENT WILL NEVER BE LOST; OR THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, APPROPRIATE, UNIQUE, OR AVAILABLE. MOMORA IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR YOUR OWN BACKUP OF IMPORTANT FAMILY PHOTOS, VIDEOS, OR WRITING.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOMORA AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, USER CONTENT, AI OUTPUT, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOMORA'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID MOMORA DURING THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Momora and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, consultants, agents, and licensors from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your User Content, your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms or law, or your violation of another person's rights.

16. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We may also update these Terms. We will post updated Terms, revise the "Last updated" date, and provide additional notice when required. If you continue using the Service after updated Terms take effect, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and schedule account deletion.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be finally settled by arbitration in Sheridan, Wyoming, in English, under the then-current Arbitration Rules and Procedures of the American Arbitration Association, except where applicable law gives you a right to bring a claim in court or prohibits mandatory arbitration.

18. General terms

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Momora regarding the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. Headings are for convenience only.
